Keithing, Tristan Eaton, and Jason Freeny For Getting Big!!! (05.20)

Here we have another round of 36” Sharky customs for the Getting Big!!! show, which is taking place tonight at TT-Underground from 7-11PM. We last revealed pieces by Luke Chueh and kaNO, and now we have images of Keithing. Jason Freeny, and Tristan Eaton’s submissions. Keithing goes for an oceanic theme with his custom Sharky, as it looks like its been sleeping in the waters for too long and has just arisen from the briny deep. There is even a starfish and some seashells attached to the base of this custom to give it that extra sense of being at the shore. I heard if you put your ears up to it you can hear the ocean.Sharky1000

It would have been fantastic to see Jason Freeny actually dissect and re-sculpt this ginormous Sharky, but he did the next best thing by using the good ol’ paint brush. It’s as though he put the Sharky through an X-ray that had two settings, see through and see way through. One half features the innards, which include vital organs, veins, and the stomach. The other half goes all the way to the skeleton with an unfortunate surfers hand.

Tristan Eaton goes another route by treating his Sharky as a clean wall or a sign post. He covered up this 3 footer with wheat pastes that features a variety of his characters and logos from head to toe and even some tongue. Tristan also threw on some eyes and a big fat “Sharky” on it’s tummy to give it some character.
