Touma describes his next figure, Mr. Patriot, as a ‘dark hero’. While that description certainly fits it doesn’t capture the quirky yet appealing design which seems to incorporate alien-like DNA as seen in the unusually shaped head and the ridges that almost have a gill-like appearance.
Mr. Patriot is one of our favorite Touma designs in recent memory as it strays from the normal outlines of his regular character menagerie while still maintaining traces of his signature elements (teeth and hands in particular). Produced in Japan by Monstock, Mr. Patriot in Purple will be released at the brand’s Tokyo shop on July 18th.
I think Touma has ripped off Muttpop’s King Katch design. Big time:

Dear Jack – I’m sorry for the personal attack. However, Muttpop has been showing us sneak peaks of this sculpt for some time. I know, if i was “Touma” I would have put this one on the shelf. He has to see that it’s to similar ! How can he not ? As well as some other artists being burned as well….. I hope this is not a trend. May be you should ask “Touma” where he got his inspiration for this sculpt ? If he has a valid response. I’ll write him to say, I am “sorry”.
