To celebrate five years (how time flies) of their ever-popular Munny DIY figure, Kidrobot has decreed June to be Munny Munth and with it has announced two cool opportunities for anyone that’s interested in customizing a vinyl toy. First up, the 7” Munnys are buy one, get one free through the end of the month at participating retailers. Second, Kidrobot is sponsoring a mega Munny Munth Custom Contest.
Entering is nice and simple. Buy a 7” Munny, customize it, take photos of your piece, and then hit up the entry form before the deadline of June 30th, 2010. Creating a winning entry is the tough part but to the winners go the spoils – the Grand Prize winner will walk away with the opportunity to design a figure for Dunny 2011, a full set of Dunny 2010 and 2011, plus a $500 Kidrobot Gift Card. 2nd place will score a full set of Dunny 2010 and a $300 Kidrobot gift card. 3rd prize? A Mega Munny and $250 Kidrobot gift card are yours. Entries judged to be the best in one of several fun categories including – Best Parent/Child Duo, Best use of Food, Looks Least Like a Munny and more, will win a fully Munnyworld set – Munny, Trikky, Bub, Rooz and Raffy plus a $100 Kidrobot gift card.
To decide whose creation is truly worthy, Kidrobot has assembled an impressive judging panel blending leading artists, designers, and celebrity creative visionaries : Amanda Visell, Erykah Badu, Frank Kozik, Huck Gee, Jeff Staple, MAD, Marcel Wanders, Mario Batali, Mark Landwehr, Paul Budnitz, Sket One and the designer of both Dunny and Munny, Tristan Eaton.
