Theft at Lulubell Toys
Here’s some sad and frustrating news. Over the weekend Lulubell Toys was robbed. The culprit(s) used a rock to a window for entrance and then took very specific figures including a 3 foot Kozik Evil. Check their facebook album to see photos of the stolen items. If you know anything about this crime or see any of these toys being offered in and around Tuscon, contact Lulubell.

Seen: Uglydoll IceBat Long Time Ago Signing @ GR2
David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim dropped by Giant Robot 2 this past Saturday for the official release and signing of the limited-edition Uglydoll IceBat Long Time Ago plush. A good sized gathering of Ugly Fans showed up to get their hands on this special IceBat (ed. of 300) which is based on Sun-Min’s original design featuring five teeth and individual toes. Enjoy the pics. If you missed the event, have no fear – the Long Time Ago IceBat is available for $30 directly from the awesome folks at Giant Robot.

Peekaboo – Custom Dunny Blind-Boxed Round 2 Revealed
Peekaboo has revealed pics of all twenty custom 3” Dunnys from his Custom Dunny Blind Box Round 2 offering. Each custom features an accessory (feathers, bones, staff, as well as others). There are a couple of Knuckle Bear Dunnys in the mix as well. The custom Blind Boxes are available now for $85 including domestic shipping (international is an add’l $8).

Amanda Visell – Tic-Toc Apocalypse (4.1)
Amanda Visell has released a nice army of toys so far, but she’s never had her own original mini-series. That changes on April first when Kidrobot drops her Tic-Toc Apocalypse minis featuring fourteen characters including many fan favorites including the Jackalope, Poopicorn, and Wood Dragon Scout. The name of the series is drawn from her ‘08 solo show in Palm Springs. Some of the figures are based on either paintings or sculptures (such as the Ice God) from the show while others appeared in later works.
From the individual shots (after the jump) – these new figs are strong translations of Amanda’s art from the dry brush-like textures to the strong 3D shapes (especially Ice God). Tic-Toc Apocalyspe drops April 1st 2010 for $9.95 per blind-box.

Amanda Visell – Jackalope Plush Sneak
More Amanda Visell x Kidrobot to start your week. As he does frequently, Paul Budnitz has posted a sneak of a new Amanda Visell plush that we’ll go out on a limb (well… not really, we’re cautious.) and say is a Jackalope plush. The large/loose texture looks nice as opposed to the fine texture of most designer plush.
Amanda Visell – 20” Zebracorn Dunny (4.1)
It’s raining Amanda Visell x Kidrobot announcements today. First up the BIG news… Kidrobot will release a 20” Zebracorn Dunny on April 1st for $350. This is the big brother to the original 3” version which was part of the recent Femme Fatale Dunny series. Tis her biggest vinyl to-date, so if you’re looking for centerpiece for your Amanda Visell collection – this might be just the trick [Seen on the Kronikle].
Proto Monday >> Bubi Au Yeung’s Treeson and Other Stories S2
Happy Proto Monday. Today we’re bringing you the first exclusive look at the initial sculpts for Bubi Au Yeung’s Treeson and Other Stories Series 2 due this summer from Crazy Label. The follow-up to last year’s first blind-boxed mini series features Three Baby Treeson figures including a cute seated version. Adding to the story and the world, we also see new characters including Mushroom and a pack of amicable Stars. Expect the final production figures to vary slightly from what you see here. T9G x Biskup – Clear Helper @ Kaiju Comrades 2
Kaiju Comrades 2 opens on March 12th @ the Design Festa gallery in Tokyo with original art, custom toys and exclusives from a talented international lineups. On the exclusives front, intheyellow will release this awesome clear edition of the T9G x Tim Biskup Helper. The design shows off both the exterior and interior design. It’s also set off nicely with the blood shot cyclops eye. This limited-edition vinyl will go for 7350 yen (~ $81). For those of you that aren’t in Tokyo, it sounds like Intheyellow will offer a small number via online sales following the opening.
