Kaijin – Cyborg 009 Figures
Japanese artist Kaijin has reinterpreted Shotaro Ishinomori’s Cyborg 009 manga/anime for a series of new figures produced by Furyu. It appears Kaijin has blended his personal art style with the original source material for a cuter yet intrepid look. This approach bridges the sometimes large gap between toys based on entertainment properties and art toys. These are both Kaijin and 009 at the same time.

Ashley Wood x 3A – Tommy Mission (12.31)
Ashley Wood and ThreeA will release the 2nd Adventure Kartel 1:6 figure, Tommy Mission, this Thursday (12.31) @ 4:59 PM over at Bambaland. It sounds like the tracksuit variant will be offered in the store periodically throughout the sale period. So keep an eye out when you’re in the virtual aisles. [Via Gimbat’s 3A updates].

We’re fans of Cure Toys’s Boogie Man, so we’re looking forward to the newest incarnation – the ready for winter 2010 Boogie Man + Suck. Disney x MINDstyle – The Mad Hatter Project Update
MINDstyle has just announced the fourth artist for the upcoming ‘The Mad Hatter’ art toy project with Disney. HK urban vinyl pioneer Michael Lau joins the previously announced roster featuring Gary Baseman, Ron English and Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park). So far only Gary Baseman’s figure design has been revealed. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the figure designs from this top-flight group of artists.
Sneak Peek – Brandt Peters x Kidrobot
KR founder Paul Bunditz showed this teaser of a new Brandt Peters figure from Kidrobot on his blog. While there has not been an official announcement, we believe this is part of an upcoming mini-fig series. The possibility exists it’s a larger version as well. Ah speculation. Fun times.
