Circus Posterus just revealed Skelve – a new Brandt Peters figure for 2010.  Shown next to a large two-faced Hazel, Skelve is a big ‘un. Seen in several of Brandt’s original paintings, Skelve’s mask is removable – impressive.  While not confirmed, we’re pretty sure this is a resin.

Kenny Wong x FERG – Copperhead SQUADTs (12.21)

copperhead2

Right on…  First seen in proto form at TTF 09, the Copperhead SQUADTs created by Kenny Wong and FERG  drop next Monday, December 21st 2009 @ Noon CST from the SQUADT store.  Having seen the proto in person, we can say these are great – a strong blend of Kenny’s Copperhead universe with FERG’s SQUADT aesthetic.

The Copperhead SQUADT is available in both a regular (250 pcs, $75) and a black edition (150 pcs, $75). Both editions come loaded for underwater salvage with diving suit, hose clippers, and a removable helmet. The pricing includes FEDEX worldwide shipping. This is apparently a preorder and you should allow 4-6 weeks for shipping.

Maybe we’re just conditioned like hamsters spinning a wheel, but we’re pleasantly surprised to see that the rarer black edition is the same price as the regular.  Expect both of these to vanish quickly – if you want ‘em (and how could you not?) stay sharp.

Seen: Custom Statues of Tawert @ The Lost Show

5-DSC_5400

The opening of the  Lost Underground Art Project exhibition @ Gallery 1988 on Tuesday evening offered a variety of series inspired artwork including a pleasant surprise – custom resin Statues of Tawert.  A select group of artists were asked to customize the ‘four toe’ resins which were sculpted and cast by Julie B. of Pretty in Plastic.  Shown in an excellent thematic desert display, the pieces blend the excitement of art toys and customs with the mythology of Lost in a seamless  and unexpected way.   Look for coverage of the full show including numerous original paintings shortly.
