123KLAN – Fellastar (and Megastar)
Inbound from Artoyz Originals, Fellastar is the first original vinyl figure from the talented Scien and Klor, better known as the venerable 123KLAN. The influential designers have created a stylish butt-kicking android, armed with a trusty machine gun guitar (note the magazine clip). The 5” articulated vinyl figure will be available in three editions – Fellastar Regular (orange, 700 pcs), Fellastar 123k (200 pieces), and the companion Pink Megastar (200 pieces). Both the Artoyz Exclusive Megastar (above, right) and the special Fellalstar 123k will drop in December. They will be followed by the regular Fellastar (shown above, left) in January. The figures with machine gun guitar and cap accessories (modeled on Megastar after the jump). Suggested retail is 59.50 euros which would come out to about 89 dollars, though there’s no official US retail pricing yet.
After several turns on other artists’ platforms, it’s great to see 123KLAN with their own original figure. Design wise, the extremely compact torso is offset by a large head, large kicks, and relatively large hands for a unique look.

We’re fans of doodle dense vinyl toys – you keep wanting to turn them to check out each and every surface to see every last little piece. This one does a nice job of layering in larger color pieces with an overall b/w doodle background made up of smaller pieces.

Thunderdog Rebrands the Soul Train Awards
Tristan Eaton and Thunderdog Studios recently had the pleasure of giving the Soul Train Awards a visual rebranding complete with a refreshed vibe, new logo and of course new design for the signature train. Soul Train’s new visual identity has already made its mark with a recent ad take over of the Atlantic Avenue subway station in Brooklyn.
Through the efforts of motion graphics specialists Interspectacular, the Thunderdog designed branding will come to life as a 20-second animated opening spot for the awards ceremony with will be broadcast this Sunday, November 29th @ 9 PM EST/PST on Centric, Viacom’s new channel.
Finally, Tristan and Thunderdog took on the challenge of designing the new Soul Train Award itself. The result is a gleaming train (8” high, 11” long) done in resin with silver and gold coatings. Very sweet.
