Blamo Toys - DesignerCon Exclusives

Blamo Toys will be bringing their hand-made figure goodness to DesignerCon '09 with three exclusives editions, their complete figure line and the 'Welcome to Blamoville' customs. 

Onto the exclusives.  First up is the Harold and Ted Antique Edition.  Limited to 15 pieces, this edition of the conjoined twins resin figure (4").  has a nice weathered look. As a bonus, one of the fifteen figures is a hand-painted chase.  $45.

Next up we have Squid Billy, the first artist edition Billy the rabbit figure, designed by Squidnik.   Limited to 10 pieces hand-painted by Squidnik, the 6" tall Saur wood figures will go for $100.  To give Squid Billy a touch of individual personality, Squidnik has used different color stars on each figure's cowboy boots.

Rounding out the exclusives there's Blamo's brand new Captain Nit Noi  plush in an exclusive white edition limited to 10 pieces.  With  a pristine white jump suit and helmet (made from a light bulb), Nit Noi is ready to explore the cosmos.  Captain Nit Noi White will retail for $230.  Be on the lookout for the special black chase figure (1/10).

For those that can't make it to Pasadena for DesignerCon, Blamo will drop any remaining exclusive figures in their web shop on November 30th.

Seen: Dehara – Crazy Farm Village

 

Japanese artist Dehara opened his Crazy Farm Village @ Paradise Toyland  in Taipei on Friday (11.13).  With a wall full of excellent hand-made figures packaged cleverly as commercial products and a crazy, energetic live painting session, Dehara drew a serious crowd including several well-known artists including Kenny Wong, Jukai, Mark Chang, Filter017 and more.   Enjoy the pics of the show courtesy of Paradise's Jones Fu after the jump.  The show items should be available for online purchase at 9:30 PM PDT tonight (1:30 PM 11.16 in Taiwan).

Ajee – Pixie Skullskins

 

One year after the debut of Ajee’s Skullskin figure from ExtendedPlayz comes three new special editions done in conjunction with Taiwanese toy boutique Pixie.  The new Pixie Skullskin figures feature a transparent helmet, flocked wings and boots, as well as new design details – gloves, headband and makeup.  The three colorways include Italy Purple, England Black and France Blue – each edition is  limited to 60 pieces.  These new figures embellish  the strong design of the Skullskin figure which features an unusual and original aesthetic highlighted by sharp angular lines and unexpected proportions.   Its an antidote to the blahs of cookie cutter design.

The new figures drop today-- Sunday, November 15th and are available from Pixie and ExtendedPlayz. The figures are also available directly from Ajee for 90 euros (includes shipping).
