Ahoy matey.  If it’s treasure you seek you’ve come to the right place.  The rowdy bunch at Rocketworld have put their conniving heads together and come up with a lil Treasure Hunt.  The booty ?  The new Titus Plush.  Win it before you can buy it.

A map ?  Not likely.  But we can tell you this hunt is all about the riddles and that’s there a specific order you need to follow, lest we make you walk the plank.  Check the pretty lil’ picture above for the starting point.

Seen: Buff Monster ‘Life is Sweet’ Signing

Seen: Peekaboo Monster – The Birds OG Drop

Peekaboo dropped the anticipated OG colorway of his ‘The Birds’ wall-mount resin figure this past Friday (11.6) at Ronin Gallery in Echo Park.  Limited to 25 pieces, the OG colorway created in conjunction with AntiKillers is available for $150 (+ $35 shipping).  Vinyl Pulse made the trip out to catch the release event.

Demonstrating his skills, Peekaboo customized a blank Birds figure on the spot.  Finished in well under two hours, the bright green and purple one-off custom is as you can see after the jump,  pretty sweet. One lucky grand-prize winner of the evening’s raffle ($10 to enter) went home with the custom! 

In addition to ‘The Birds’, Peekaboo has a quite few other things going on including his Three Apples Hello Kitty print which he signed on Friday and dropped on Saturday @ Royal/T.

8” Bic Buddy Revealed

 

Bic Buddy is going big time.  Bic Plastics will soon unleash an 8" version of Marka27’s urban platform figure -- a big brother to the blind-box minis released this summer. Here’s the very first look at the brand-new larger Bic Buddy, roaming the streets of Brooklyn as captured by Photographer Moses Mitchell.  We’ve also got a video featuring the 8” DIY + several of the artist series minis in and around Brooklyn – check it out below.

To kick off the introduction of the 8” DIY Bic Buddy, Bic Plastics will tap top-flight artists to show off their skills with  two custom shows in February ‘10 – one in  LA and  one in NYC, with a roster of 30+ artists for each event.

With the introduction of this new larger size, Bic Buddy steps up from mini-fig to full-fledged designer toy platform.  The  8” sculpt looks strong – digging the heavy-duty wings, the thickness works well.  Keep watching Vinyl Pulse for more on the 8” Bic Buddy.
