Bwana Spoons – Gary the Nerdasaurus Silkscreen Print

MP03

Bwana Spoons has just dropped his Gary the Nerdasurus silkscreen print (6.25” x 6.25”) over at his online shop for $20.  We’re digging this --  cool design, affordable, and it’s hand-screened in Texas by Bovine Prints.  For art, process  and tradition matter. In our opinion the craft of screenprinting trumps the technical precision of the ubiquitous giclee.  This is the third release in Bwana’s ongoing monthly print series.  Also be sure to heck out the first two releases -- ‘Killer’ and ‘Beetle and Lychee’.

This Saturday, November 7th at Rivet Gallery will be an opening reception of an exhibit that features two very amazing artists. From the West Coast we have Ragnar, who will be bringing several acrylic on paper pieces to the show. Each of which depicts his unique cartoony style of art. Making his way to the show from Chicago, Charlie Owens brings his mixed media collage style art to the table. His artwork on display will show you the range of weaponry in his art arsenal, which features his use of screen printing, wheat paste cut outs, stencils, word work, calligraphy, and acrylics. Don’t forget that this show begins this Saturday from 7-10PM at Rivet. You can also check out a preview of the show HERE.

MAD for Natural Resources Show @ Shoparooni (11.06)

4073758775_ee8c4af72d_o

MAD shared his Neighbourwood custom on his Flickr for the upcoming Natural Resource show, which is sponsored by Bigshot Toyworks and held at Shoparooni Annex Gallery. MAD took the wooden figure to a whole other level and transformed it into his Sham character. Even lacing him up with a huge Big Money chain, bottle of who knows what, and a shank. Hopefully this show makes it to a toystore/gallery near you, because these are customs you are going to want to see in person. The first show takes place on Friday, November 6th from 7-11PM. More pictures of the custom Sham after the jump.

New Mutant Vinyl Hardcore Sculpt WIP

4073360645_2421f75a26

LASH just released some images of an upcoming figure he is working on at the moment. These sculpts are just a work in progress and that this is only about half done. Currently being sculpted are limbs for this elderly demon. This figure has been dubbed Doji San for the time being, but may change. Here is a little background about Doji san:

Doji San is an old demon, very old demon, so old that he is very clumsy and weak. He has lost all but 1 tooth, broke off his horn long ago and no hair what so ever. Dojis mind though is sharp as a steel trap, he actually gets smarter and sharper as he gets older. What he enjoys most is instigating trouble between the other demons. Yup Doji San is pretty much a full time ball breaker as thats about all he is capable of doing, or should I say thats all he cares to do. He knows just the right things to say and do to get the other demons all wild up, he get a kick out it.

Of course we are anxious to see the final result of the sculpt. Check out more pictures after the jump.
