Awhile back we reported on Popbox, a multi-day event curated by Fewmany featuring art/toys from Japan’s top creators. It’s back… in the form of Popbox Fight! @ Shibuya Loft in Japan which opened on 8.22 and continues through 9.6. Thanks to the Devilrobots we have pics of the event to share.
The format appears to be largely the same as the previous event – each invited artist has a small booth showcasing their art/goods for purchase. This year’s artists include Devilrobots, Dehara, Kaijin, Nekonoko, Gumliens, Mad Barbarians, and more. What’s interesting here is the mix of special production colorways as well as hand-done (custom) pieces plus the fact that the show is artist rather than company focused. Looks pretty sweet. In addition there are events scheduled throughout the show’s run including several live painting sessions with artists such as Shin from Devilrobots (above with a tiny artist).
Finally, Popbox Fight! includes a group art show celebrating the 40th anniversary of Ashita No Joe – a celebrated Japanese boxing manga. Hit the jump for plenty o’pics.
