Instinctoy’s Black Rainbow Liquid Erosion Prototype

 

We’ve been fans of Hiroto Ohkubo’s  Instinctoy ever since their release of the Inc bear figure last year.  We dug the heavily textured sculpt, the funny backstory, and we'll pretty much everything about it.  Recently they’ve spun off the sidekick character, Liquid, into the standalone Liquid Erosion figure which recently sold out in both black and white editions.

Ok that was a loooong intro.  Instinctoy recently unveiled their new Black Rainbow Liquid Erosion Prototype.  This one has a swanky polarized paint job featuring Maziora(ChromaFlake) paint that gives it a  glossy dark almost black appearance (below center) until you hit it with a light source (above), at which point it lights up in circular rainbow patterns.  These paint jobs are typically seen on custom cars, or one off pieces.  So we’re pretty stoked that Instinctoy is considering making a small production run of these.   This is a continuation of their use of Maziora – they also did a special run of Inc with Maziora paint.   Maybe we’re suckers for special effect paint – but the appeal is undeniable in our opinion.
