Todd Schorr – Sweet Tooth Art Toy

LA-based Todd Schorr is one our favorite pop surrealist painters.  His larger works pack mind-boggling detail bathed in the sweet and sometimes sickly light of pop-culture. So we were excited to see work-in-progress pictures of upcoming Sweet Tooth art toy project in his recently released American Surreal book (Last Gasp).  In production with STRANGEco, the toy is based on the painting of the same name and features a large central steam punk dragon-like character (12”) as well as the little children and characters at its mercy.    This is one to wait for, and in the meantime definitely pick up Schorr’s newest book – well worth it for the excellent reproductions of his paintings and the extensive commentary.
