Scribe’s Rumpus Customs for SDCC – Preview 3
As you may know by now, Scribe has customized ten of his Rumpus resin figures for the mother of all cons, SDCC. So far we’ve shown you four of his customs – all radical examples of his jaw-dropping skills. Today we’re looking at two special Justice League of Amercia inspired customs – Bat Rumpus and Aqua Rumpus. Nicely done. Word is that there just might be a few other JLA Rumpus customs ready to bring the pain to wrongdoers. Definitely drop by the Cardboard Spaceship booth (#4521) to check out all ten customs.

Nathan Hamill – Boris Launch + Customs (7.17)
Nathan Hamill will release Boris, the first of several figures in his Picnic Land series tomorrow night – Friday, July 17th (7-10 PM) @ Meltdown. Family Tradition: Artistic Interpretations of the Godfather 7.19

Curated by Ron English, the Family Tradition group show opening this Sunday July 19th (4 to 7 PM) @ De La Barracuda features original interpretations of the the classic ‘The Godfather’ film from a star-studded lineup. The ‘hitmen’ include Carlos Bautista, Chet Zar, Clark Fox, Eric White, Francesco LoCastro, Genevive Zacconi, Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), Mark Dean Veca, Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park), Robert Craig, Travis Louie, and Tristan Eaton.
Family Tradition will also be the official launch event for MINDstyle’s The Godfather vinyl Art Toy Collectible (ATC) by HK legend Michael Lau. Be the first to collect the original (marionette) version.

Mimoco DIY Vimobot Custom Show @ SDCC

Curated by SF artist DrilOne, Mimoco will present a custom show featuring 20 artists' interpretations of their DIY Vimobot platform @ SDCC in their booth in the Toy Growers section (#4938). The customs will be on preview on Wednesday, July 22nd (6-9 PM) and then go on sale on a first-come, first-served basis beginning on Thursday, July 23rd with prices ranging from $40 to $100. Show artists include 64 Colors, Betso, Brian Colin, Cris Rose, Dlux, DrilOne, Gatchabert, George Gaspar, Jenny Wolf, Jeremiah Ketner, Jesse Hernandez, John"Spanky"Stokes, Kat Brunnegraff, Leecifer, Leonard Amaral, Lunabee, Motorbot, Paul Kaiju, Phoneticontrol, and Reactor-88.

SDCC 09 – Lord Mesa’s Kalua Moola
Lord Mesa will be attending SDCC and he will be bringing some friends along for the ride. He will be debuting the bulk of round 1 (#’s 1-6) of his Kalua Moola resin figure from Argonaut Resins in the artist alley at table HH-12. Available will be 5 tints and a special chase figured painted by Lord Mesa himself . All the Kalua Moola’s come with two rein coins sand a custom box featuring the art of Lord Mesa and a certificate of authenticity. There will also be special guest artists stopping by the table to do some custom Moola’s in each of the rounds. Only 25 Moola’s will be made for SDCC.

Munky King @ SDCC : Luke Chueh and DGPH
In addition to the previously mentioned releases from Yoskay Yamamoto and Dave Pressler, Munky King (#4539) will be dropping fire from Luke Chueh and DGPH. The first item almost needs no description but for the sake of completeness is Luke Chueh's Decapitated Bunny Head resin (ed. of 250), a riff on his upcoming vinyl from MK.
From the Argentinian duo of DGPH, comes the black edition of their Tsuchi figure produced by Munky King (ed. of 150).

SDCC 09 – Disney x MINDstyle – V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole
For the 30th anniversary of Disney’s “The Black Hole”, MINDstyle will be releasing a vinyl version of V.I.N.CENT at SDCC. This 8” SDCC Distressed version will be available at the MINDstyle booth (#4545) and at Toy Tokyo’s booth (#5237) for $130. This limited figured (300 pcs) comes in a gift box with certificate of authentic and numbered collectors card.

If you’re going to be going to SDCC, you’ll have the chance to pick up some hand-created plush creations from Anna Chambers. She’ll be offering quite a variety at the Cardboard Spaceship booth (#3521) including Sea Turds ($65, only 3, 1 per day [th – sat]), Salty Sea Dogs ($90, only 3, 1 per day [th-sat]), Bowel Banditos ($45), Anus Angels ($45) and Drunken Doodles ($45).

Munky King @ SDCC : Yoskay Yamamoto & Dave Pressler
Munky King will be offering several special releases for SDCC from their booth (#4539). Yoskay Yamamoto fans will be interested in bronze plated Koibito (ed. of 30) as well as Baburu resin pins in both Pearl White and Gun Metal (each are editions of 200). While the release of Angry Clobber Monkey is almost here, Dave Pressler will tide us over with his wicked So Very Dark customs (ed. of 4, UV blacklight on vinyl) -- these glow in the dark under UV in different colors.
