SDCC 09: Alisa Ross Plush @ Cardboard Spaceship (#3521)
Alisa Ross, Scribe’s wife, will be releasing several new plush figures @ SDCC in the Cardboard Spaceship booth (#3521). To coincide with Scribe’s two resin figures – Rumpus and Sumego, she’s created plush plungers ($20) and plush bees ($30). She’s also going to offer her Prairie Doggn’ series ($35) featuring plush heads mounted on round wooden disks perfect for wall-mountable conversation pieces.

Brent Nolasco – Bleed it out! for From Mind to Matter (7.18)
Bleed it Out! is the latest eye-searing custom done by Brent Nolasco for his joint show with Nemo, From Mind to Matter, opening this Friday, July 18th @ ToyQube. This custom giver has a bloody problem – the body can’t stand the evil head and keeps rejecting it, blood gushing out with each attempt. Hence the name, which is also a nod to Linkin Park’s “Bleed it out!” which got Brent through the customizing process.

STRANGEco @ SDCC 09
STRANGEco is gearing up for SDCC with rare editions of several of their Tokidoki figures, a signing by Julie West, and special customs and a signing from Mark Nagata as the key highlights to the action in their booth (#4629). SDCC will be the first opportunity to buy Platinum editions of Skeletrino & Skeletrina as well as Carina and Bruttino. Each of these Platinum tokidoki figs is limited to 250 pieces and will be available for $15. The rare Captain Coco in Grayscale which debuted at last year’s Paper Mag pop up store will also be available at SDCC for $25.
For the Kaiju side of life, Max Toy Company’s Mark Nagata will be offering two SDCC exclusives – the Kaiju Drazoran (15 pcs) and the Debut Neo Eyezon (15 pcs_ collab with Dream Rockets, as well as eight hand-painted customs. He’ll be signing on Thursday (7.23) from 2-4 PM.
In other signing news, UK artist Julie West will be signing on Friday from 1-2 PM. STRANGEco will have a limited quantity of the special Tree Edition Bumble and Tweets available as well.

Mind your Mechtorians Custom Contest from Toysrevil
Are you an awesome customizer? Time to prove it and reap the rewards. Toysrevil is currently running their ‘Mind your Mechtorians’ custom contest. Customize one of MINDstyle’s six Mechtorians Minis created by Doktor A and submit pics of your creation by August 23rd, 2008. The best submission will receive Dok’a hand-painted 8” Crupusculation SLP custom and the three runner-ups will score the NFS Verdigris SLP’s. Check the official contest page over at TRE.
Brent Nolasco for Crazy for Cult 3D (7.16.09
Brent Nolasco dug deep for his Edward Scissorhands custom 10” MADL for Crazy for Cult 3D which opens tomorrow, July 16th @ Gallery 1988 LA. Crazy good – in addition to his excellent painting and sculpting skills, Brent got to flex his sewing chops for this one as well. In our opinion, one of his best customs to date.

Kidrobot Does Dallas! (07.30)
I was hoping to some day be able to use a title like this one in any of my posts, but anyways. Kidrobot makes their move to Dallas, Texas to open up a pop shop on Thursday, July 30th. They plan on having a huge party with giveaways, drinks, and a special guest signing with Huck Gee.

SDCC 09 – Strangekiss x Lanham x MAD x Kozik
With it’s debut release at SDCC, StrangeKiss and David Lanham produced a figure unlike any other. And with the help of MAD and Kozik, they have created 3 awesome designs for the exclusive Bill The Yeti release at the SK booth (#4637). At 8” tall and weighing over a pound, this figure has got some heavy duty gear on. Dressed in hat, overalls, shirt, and undies, Bill even comes with a backpack to store his clothes when he wants to get down into his skivvyz. Each of these figures are limited to 250 pcs and come with an SDCC print.

The man behind Bill The Yeti, David Lanham will be signing on Saturday, July 25th at 12PM. He made his first appearance with the folks of StrangeKiss at last years con when he debuted his Zog figure.
