Introducing Bic Buddies – COPE2, Jesse Hernandez, and kaNO

BICBUDDY-INTRO

While maybe it’s true that you can’t buy friends, you can buy buddies.  The new Bic Buddy platform figure designed by Marka27 for Bic Plastics will debut with the upcoming August release of Series 1 featuring major up and coming artists.

Since this is a brand new shape, here’s a look at the blank figure – definitely “taller and chunkier than your average 3” vinyl toy”. The base seen in these picture setups is not part of the figure and was used solely for display purposes.  Not missing any details, Bic Plastics has created a special version of the figure with accessory ports for designs that need them, such as the winged characters.  For characters without accessories, no distracting  holes… Very nice.

We know you’re probably thinking, show me the toys!  So starting today, we’ll bring you a look at three Bic Buddy designs each Tuesday, until you’ve seen ‘em all.  We kick off our  previews of this brand-new platform series with designs by graffiti Legend COPE2, Jesse Hernandez, and kaNO.

Bic Plastics will release a special SDCC exclusive version of Jesse Hernandez’s design. Then in  August, the Bic Buddy artist series 1 will launch for $7.95 per blind box (25 per case) with release events scheduled at Toy Tokyo (NYC), Munky King (Los Angeles), and Rotofugi (Chicago).

After the jump, close-up shots of the three Bic Buddy designs plus bios of each artist.  Check back next Tuesday for your first look at another trio of designs.
