To celebrate the long awaited release of Spiki, creator Nakanari plans on doing things proper with a huge release party. The celebration takes place on Saturday, May 30th beginning at 2 PM and ends at 6 PM at the Urban Outfitters in the Millennia Mall in Orlando, Florida. To make this event even better, Nakanari will be bringing in some friends for the show. Soujohn and David “Outtamymind” Quiles will both be attending and exhibiting some amazing art and goodies for the show. This show will feature custom figures, paintings, prints, acrylic creations, jewelry and tons of surprises. They have also been working with Skullove and Riddim Records to premiere some limited exclusive t-shirts for this event.

This show couldn’t get any more better you may be asking yourself, but it does. They have brought in more friends to spice up the show a bit, by asking them to create artwork based on the Spiki character. Artists include: Van Beater, Tobyhk, Mr. Kone, Banana Virus, Shon, BUNKA, Keith Poon, kaNO, Paul Shih, Toiboy, Fury Animals, and more. The tunes will also be cranked out by DJ Kittybat & Diddles of RockSteadySoundSystem. So be sure to come out for the show and get your hands on the very first Spiki figures to hit the shelves. Product info soon to be announced. Artist bio’s right after the jump.

We would also like to give a Birthday shout out to Nakanari, Happy Birthday and Congratulations.

Dave "Outtamymind" Quiles was (hold your tongue) born on a pirate ship on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, WI. He gave up his villianous bucaneering upbringing to pursue a career in art and design, all while getting a biochemistry degree. He moved to Florida after a wind spirit suggested it to him on a whisper carried on a breeze. He designs, he daydreams, he creates, and, every once in a while, sleeps. His projects include everything from furniture and children’s books to jewelry and sculptures. He is known to push the boundaries of wall art with his multi-planed acrylic sculptures. He’s also known to push the boundaries of mind-control. YOU WILL LIKE HIM AND HE IS YOUR NEW FAVORITE ARTIST…WELL…BESIDES NAKANARI…AND BANKSY’S PRETTY AMAZING…AND SO IS VAN BEATER…OKAY WELL…YOU’LL APPRECIATE HIS WORK MORE THAN BEFORE…SO YEAH…HE’LL SETTLE FOR THAT…

John "Soujohn" Sousa was born in 1984 on a military base in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Then ended up in Florida, and decided to hold it down for the O-Town. Soujohn is the second half behind the creative force known as Mai Hiro, serving as the brands art director and occasional PR rep. He is well known for his…. well nothing, really, he’s pretty much the secret weapon in the Mai Hiro arsenal. However, while hard at work developing and refining Mai Hiro’s artwork since co-founding the brand he’s had time to develop some of his own musings.
