Dacosta! x Mononofu – Date DCTO Chibi Charms

Dacosta!’s DCTO project is rooted in and inspired by Japan’s Daruma doll tradition.   Much more  than a visually appealing project, Dacosta! continues to honor the culture behind the DCTO figures  at every opportunity — from the DCTO custom show held at the Japanese National Museum this past December to the debut Date DCTO Chibi Charms which draw inspiration from Japan’s Sengoku era.

For the first  commercially available DCTO Chibi Charms, Dacosta! created  a pair of Date (Dah’-Teh’)  Chibi Charms based on Date Masamune, a famous shogun from the Sengoku era, exclusively for Mononofu — one of the premier  Japanese boutiques specializing in Sengoku items.  The Sengokua Era (15th to 17th century), dominated by military conflict waged by Samurai, is wildly popular in Japan and has inspired TV shows, anime, movies and more. The design is based on a Masamune Kimono featuring the Shogun family’s crest which is on the rear of both the Blue (300 pcs) and Pearl (200 pcs) Chibi Charms.   They are currently available only in Japan though overseas ordering may be possible at some point.

Very cool designs and an excellent way to start the ball rolling with the DCTO! Chibi Charms, bringing the DCTO appeal to a wider audience in a smaller shape. Next up,a pair of Chibi Charms by MAD.
