[Japanese artist Kaijin opened up his mini exhibition at Stitch on Tuesday (4.28). Here’s our exclusive report from our man in Japan, Luke Rook.]
Anyone who tries to say Kaijin isn’t colorful, wonderfully cute, or technically proficient is out of their mind. Kaijin blew the doors off of Stitch with his solo show. I arrived to the opening and it had already been underway for a couple hours and already half was sold out. He is truly turning into a force to recon with. What was impressive about this show is it truly featured a bit of everything. New sculpts, one-offs, every figure he’s made, and even a Stitch exclusive – a totally new re-masked Pocl. You want pure eye candy, you got it.
[The show runs through May 17th — so if you’re in Tokyo. Click through for loads of awesome pics. Thanks to Ryosuke Noda of Wonderwall for additional pics. ]
