The Squirrels Made Me Do it @ Grass Hut (4.3)
The Squirrels Made Me do It opening on April 3rd at Grass Hut in Portland features the art of Amanda Visell (above), Anna Chambers, Joe Ledbetter and Michelle Valigura. While all four artists are well-known for their toys which are another medium for expressing their aesthetic and message. The show will feature original paintings, plush, and wood sculpture. Amanda Visell and Michelle Valigura will make the trip from SoCal for the opening. Here’s a look at two of Amanda's paintings showcasing her new approach of applying textures to characters(above & after the jump). More previews from the other artists shortly.
