Test Shot of MINDstyle’s Peacemaker 32.9 by Brandt Peters

Brandt Peters opened his Cackle Factory solo at Gallery 1988 in LA this past Tuesday evening.  Featuring new original paintings (including some stellar graphite pieces), plush sculptures, and customs – this was clearly Brandt’s best show to-date.  We’re working on full show coverage, but we thought we’d drop a first-hand look at a test shot of his Peacemaker 32.9 from MINDstyle which was on display at the show.

The figure we saw was not final (the drippings will be reduced in size and prominence) however it was quite impressive.  First off, it doesn’t look like vinyl rather acheiving an almost almost tin-toy like appearance.  Second, it has an imposing presence. Third, the weathered, beat-up look adds considerable character – this doesn’t look a shiny, pristine machine, but rather a battle-tested one.  Finally, we kept wanting to look at it, and up close.  A positive sign.

Peacemaker 32.9 drops in limited quantities via Toy Tokyo’s NYCC booth (#858). Definitely worth checking out. Brandt and his wife Kathie Olivas will be signing at the booth  on Saturday, February 7th from Noon to 2 PM.
