Brent Nolasco’s custom 10″ Teddy Troop for the Wreck the Hallz custom TT show (flier) presents a skeletal bear beset or perhaps befriended by a menagerie of Brent’s tentacled creatures. Presented by Immortal Beloved Toys and Genuine Artikle Gallery, the holiday show features the work of a large group of artists including Julie West, SoopajDelux, Parskid, Brian Viveros and many more. It opens on December 20th @ Genuine Artikle Gallery in Lake Ronkonkoma, New York (8 PM).
Brent’s custom really speaks for itself with vibrant colors complimenting an inspired design. The foreground elements such as the skull and the creatures pop quite nicely off the abstract backgrounds.
Many people feel that customs that are ‘just painted’ are a little too safe these days and crave wild 3D additions. While the latter are often awesome, pieces like this one from Brent remind us that well-painted customs can be stunning.
