Disney x MINDstyle – Bloc28 Series 2 Figures

Disney’s Bloc28 project brings together respected and leading urban artists to reimagine and reinterpret the iconic Mickey Mouse.  Entering into the project’s second year, Series 2 will feature the art of Chaz Bojorquez, Rime (MSK/Seventh Letter), Ewok (MSK/The Seventh Letter), Aroe (MSK/The Seventh Letter), Suiko (Japan)  and Tenga (Japan).    The new series will feature limited-edition product which going by the first collection should  include Tees and fitted caps.

Series 2 will also feature brand-new original Bloc28 Mickey figures from Japanese Bloc28 artists Suiko and Tenga, produced by MINDstyle.   We’re pleased to unveil both of these figures right here on Vinyl Pulse.  Suiko presents a dripping, oozing, surreal Mickey (above).  Tenga counters with a high-flying fresh rendition of the iconic character (below) that focuses not on the mouse but his ‘tude .   Tenga’s piece is all about impact – the final figure will measure in at a whopping  16 inches high and 12 inches wide at the edges of its wings.

Paint masters for both figures are shown here in the nice environmental shots from MINDstyle. We’ve got sculpt-process pictures as well as both artist’s original art after the jump.

Bloc28 Series 2 product will be unveiled on November 13th at the Continental Gallery in downtown LA. Special edition product will be auctioned to benefit ARTSHARE-LA. Vinyl Pulse will be at the event bringing you all the info and pics you can handle.
