Junko Mizuno – The Kappa Show (7.3.08)

Junko Mizuno’s conjuring aquatic spirits with ‘The Kappa Show’ opening tonight – Thursday, July 3rd [6 PM] at MOSHi MOSHi in Portland.  For this ‘mini-show’, Junko has created three large paintings and thirty smaller pieces on Japanese paper -- each featuring Kappa or Japanese water spirits. 
   
Junko’s work  which blends  seemingly cute images with a decidedly darker undercurrent and subject matter is quite popular.  Given the smaller size of some of these pieces, this might be a great opportunity to pick up an original.  The show pieces should be online tomorrow night.
