Seen: Alex Pardee – Scratches and Abrasions

apo4_001

Alex Pardee threw down with his Scratches and Abrasions solo at SURU this past Saturday (7.12.08) night.  Since I was in Taipei I missed the show, but long-time VP contributor Yevgeniy Shukhman did and set back shots of the art work and the party.   The art work looks great.  Be sure to check out SURU’s blog for more shots including a look at Alex’s killer wall mural.  If you missed it, drop by the store on Melrose and check it out.  After the jump – plenty more pics.

DOMA: New Plush + Prints

The seriously talented and wacky folks at Argentinean art collective DOMA are ready to tempt you with a new collection of plush and silk screen prints.  The plush collection additions include Corpus – body part plushes (head, leg, hand), Versus in three main variations, Stupid Elephant Tank, and Smoking Barrel

DOMA delivers the unexpected to the plush market and does it with a smile and a chuckle. The Versus Skeleton and Versus Bones  (above)are great – plush within plush. They also use plush as a vehicle for thought and fun. Stupid Elephant Tank and Smoking Barrel succeed in combining cool looking toys with definite social commentary. All in all great stuff.  Be sure to click through for pics of all the plush and the screen prints after the jump.
