Seen: Here We Grow + Flying Fortress Prints

Here We Grow featuring the art of The London Police, Flying Fortress, Galo and Pez opened this past Saturday (5.17.08) @ Black Maria gallery in conjunction with Aphoridiso Records. The show features original works from each of the artists as well as two new Flying Fortress giclee prints (below) which are now available online for $150 each. After people browsed the pieces displayed in the gallery store, many headed outside to watch the live drawing session held  behind the gallery. 

Both TLP and Flying Fortress spent most of the evening drawing two very large panels.  The crowd watched as lines and curves grew into their signature characters.  Many people remarked that TLP's hand-drawn cricles are nearly perfect -- amazing stuff. The panels will be auctioned on eBay with 10% of the proceeds going to Monkey Sanctuary, a charity working to protect primates. The show runs through May 28th, so there's still time to check it out.
