OUIP Platform from Korea

Lately news on Vinyl Pulse has taken on an international flair beyond the normal players.  Israel, Brazil, and now Korea. Good to see.   Korean company Delitoys has just launched their OUIP DIY platform in Korea.  The concept draws inspiration from a lightbulb for the head shape.  OUIP will be available in a standard white as well as GID versions in an 8" size to be followed with a 2.5" version.   While Delitoys has plans for Kinkirobot to distribute OUIP in Korea, the brand is still looking for distribution stateside.

Platforms are  essential and yet rarely sexy or exciting.  It's the nature of the beast.  The difficulty of creating  an original yet fleixble platform looms large.   In this case, the lightbulb concept  reminds us of Rolito's Black Polito to some extent. Then again, it's not exactly an exotic shape.  Few platforms have proved to have staying power.   Perhaps OUIP's move away from an anthormorphized animal will catch on.  Click through for flat art of OUIP along with turnarounds.
