Kenny Wong x Devilrobots - Molly Tofu

Update: Release window + Crown info.

Last month we posted line-art and sculpt pictures of the upcoming Kenny Wong x Devilrobots Molly Tofu (10") in production from Play Imaginative.  Now, we've got nice big pics of  the collaborative figure which brings Kenny's Molly  and the Devilrobot's iconic Tofu characters together. This is slated for a Summer release (TTF '08). No definitive word on whether the Tofu Crown is removable -- though we believe it is.  Will confirm shortly. Confirmed -- it sits over Molly's noggin rather than locking into place.   Click through for more pics.

Plastik - Designer Toys in Brazil

Vinyl is global.  Recently we featured the first vinyl store in Israel.  Today we're checking out Plastik -- the only designer toy store + gallery in Brazil.  Opened in '06, the store offers the latest vinyl in a stunning environment with atmosphere and personality to spare -- clawfloot bathtubs as toy displays?  Yes, please. They are also making waves in terms of promoting designer toys -- their print campaign recently won a silver award at the CLIO 2008 awards.

It's not all toys though... The  Plastik gallery hosted Gary Baseman for a Munny art show in '07 and is currently showing the sweet stencil work of French artist Christian Guémy (C215). See more of his work on his Flickr.   Click through for more pics. If you're in São Paulo, you now have a new must-see on your to-do list. Even if you can't make it to the store,  they've got a nice bilingual blog --  check it out.

Winson Ma 12" Apexplorer from Urabbit

12" Apexplorer from Winson Ma with a twist.  This one is based on Winson's artdoll concept (rather than his normal hyper-real 1:6 scale approach)  and will be dropping this summer from new label Urabbit.  Urabbit's just posted protos of the new figure which will feature 'real' fur (flocked?), an ice-hammer, removable goggles, and a diecast Apexplorer badge.  Look for orange, red, white, and black colorways.  The sculpt's inter'testing -- really defined on a relatively simple shape.  Just cause it's vinyl doesn mean it has to be cute -- check out that scowl.   We're curious about the articulation with the unusual design linking the arms directly to the head instead of the torso.
