Seen: Olivas & Peters - Acquisitions and Mergers

Kathie Olivas and Brandt Peters opened their collaborative show, Acquisitions and Mergers, last night at Thinkspace Gallery on Sunset Boulevard.  The art couple presented a large show with new original paintings and a large number of custom toys and sculptures.  We may be repeating ourselves but Kathie and Brandt's collaborative work almost eclipses their solo pieces -- the combination is seemingly effortless and powerful.  Our favorite customs had to be the Slap Happy and Mr. Muggles -- Muggles in particular has a great weathered look complete with a red bird in his cap.    A very nice show -- if you missed it, go check it out for yourself -- it runs through May 2nd, 2008.
