Seen: Nakanari and Dave Quiles – Technobabble

Nakanari and Dave Quiles of Agi Agi studios opened their joint show, Technobabble, at myplasticheartnyc this past Friday (3.29).  If you’ve ever seen one of their shows you know that they pack it with a huge variety of art and toys. Prints on canvas, plush, resin figures, custom vinyl and more.  From the pics myplasticheart sent over, both artists went all out for this one.

Nakanari presented a wide variety of work including a large number of crossovers including work from lseveral talented but lesser-known asian artists.  Perhaps the most interesting offering for toy collectors are the limited-edition all-black Misfits (Naka and Nari) resin figure sets. Among  Dave Quile’s work, his Rype and Rottyn  metal tree pieces offer a  mix of 2d and 3d elements — spanning art and home decor.  Nice. Click through for more pics.  Also for more Technobabble check out Saki’s writeup / flickr set and also flickr sets from Dupanuts and Sketchguy. Props to  Nakanari and Dave on a successful show.
