Newcomer Kicktoys is trying something different with their first BEit Dude series due out later this Spring. The render above reveals the basic concept — a block figure with a blank face designed to accommodate a cropped photo or DIY design. The early proto shots should give you a better idea for the feel of the actual product.
BEit Dude is a hard product to peg. It crosses a few genres and the concept of fill-in-the blank collector personalization doesn’t fit squarely into designer toys as we normally think of them. Though perhaps one can see the product as a mix between DIY and artist designed pieces. Props to Kicktoys for trying something different and for coming up with a block character design rather than just following the tried and true ‘brick.
