BEit Dude from Kicktoys
Newcomer Kicktoys is trying something different with their first BEit Dude series due out later this Spring. The render above reveals the basic concept -- a block figure with a blank face designed to accommodate a cropped photo or DIY design. The early proto shots should give you a better idea for the feel of the actual product.
BEit Dude is a hard product to peg. It crosses a few genres and the concept of fill-in-the blank collector personalization doesn't fit squarely into designer toys as we normally think of them. Though perhaps one can see the product as a mix between DIY and artist designed pieces. Props to Kicktoys for trying something different and for coming up with a block character design rather than just following the tried and true 'brick.
Since the toy concept is new for designer vinyl, we'd love to hear what you think about these. Whether you dig 'em or aren't feeling 'em, let us know.
