Itokin Park created 30 Mikazukin SP editions (customs) for One Up’s booth at the recent Design Festa in Japan. Collectors came by the booth and quickly swarmed like pirahna and they were gone… So, One Up had Itokin create 21 SP editions for a special Itokin Park festival to be held at One Up on Thursday, January 10th ’08. These customs are really stunning featuring 7 different styles — from the mosaic GID design to the wild translucent Mikazukins filled with mini hand-made resin Mikazukins. The mini hand-made resin filled ones are brilliant — combining the production Mikazukin with the resin artistry that made Itokin popular.
The 21 Mikazukin SP figures will be sold in three specific ways — 7 will be available for walk-up purchase at One Up on 1.10.08, 7 are available through an online lottery (Japanese customers only), and 7 are available for overseas orders (outside Japan). So essentially, one of each style (7 in all) will be available to each set of customers.
For the overseas figures (#15 – #21), only #16 and # 17 are available — the rest have been sold. First come, first serve. The pics in this post are of the figures available to overseas collectors (outside Japan).
