Seen: Sadly Beautiful

Sadly Beautiful, a group vinyl art show, opened this past Saturday (12.8.07) @ Black Maria .  Curated by Ally Takeuchi, the show features the work a large number of artists including several local LA area artists —

The show’s theme focuses on the bittersweet nature of life —  challenges and triumphs. We couldn’t make it to the opening on Saturday, but did drop by Friday night and shot some pics.  Some nice work here — also appreciate the mix of 2D pieces with the vinyl.  Nice to not always have vinyl separated out as some ‘other’ kind of art… Arguments both ways but good to see 2D and 3D together.  Several pieces are still available — check out the sadly beautiful flickr for info.
