Glenn Barr’s Janes from Dark Horse

Detroit painter Glenn Barr’s work ranges from his comic book stylings to his dark, sultry and moody paintings often graced by beauitful women.  His upcoming Janes line of high-end designer vinyl from Dark Horse fuses both ends of his artistic range with very distinctive results.  Riding in flying saucers recalling  america’s favorite spacey ‘toon family, each wide-eyed Jane is a muse representing a different outlook on life.  There are four in all — Ava the Muse of the Cocktail Hour, Betty the Muse of Pathos,    Mashika the Muse of Funk, and Tika the Muse of Destruction

Sculpted by Steve Kiwus each Jane is highly detailed and distinct from the bomb loaded on Tika’s saucer to Ava’s  platinum blond hair and martini glass.   In development for two years, the protos on display at the ’07 SDCC were eye-catching with a very unique look.  Production will be a complicated mix of rotocast vinyl, injected plastic and "blow molding".  Measuring 6" tall and 5" wide, Each Jane is limited to 500 pieces and is scheuled to drop in May ’08 for a suggested retail of $150.
