Upper Playground Walrus by Craola
Just in time for the holidays comes the sweet news that Upper Playground will release a vinyl figure of their Walrus mascot produced by Ningyoushi. For this premiere project they wisely selected long-time collaborator Greg 'Craola' Simkins who they've worked with on shirts, hoodies and a solo show. Craola's dreaming brings us a dapper walrus dressed to the nines with a blue argyle sweater and a swanky top hat -- both common elements in his painterly wardrobe. The tweaked gothic-ish handpuppet pushes the design and marks it with Craola's stamp of storytelling. Refined walrus or darker creature given voice through the tattered hand-puppet...
The Upper Playground Walrus stands 7" tall and this first Blue Argyle edition is limited to 500 pieces @ $68 each. It's scheduled to drop in December -- so keep a look out. Also stay tuned for additional Upper Playground x Ningyoushi projects in the near future.
