Nathan Jurevicius x Toy Tokyo – Owl Windups

Blind boxed minifigs are all the rage these days.  Toy Tokyo is changing things up and going old school with a new line of blind-boxed windup minis.  The line will feature several different artist series, each with original sculpts.   Inspired by his Lithuanian heritage, Nathan Jurevicius chose an owl theme for his first series of windups.  In Lithuanian mythology, the owl is the sacred bird of Giltinė the goddess of death.

In their unpainted form, Nathan’s  seven owl designs carry an almost vintage look, refined and upscale.  The pictures here are of the unpainted figure prototypes minus the windup mechanism.  The final figures will  use the windup action to walk (waddle).  While this series is a work-in-progress, the current plan is to experiment with semi-transparent materials, color sprays and metallic paint.  Keep checking Vinyl Pulse for additional updates on this new windup series.
