The Carnival of the Strange (10.26.27) @ WWA
Tired of the normal and the ordinary? Check out The Carnival of the Strange art extravaganza opening tomorrow, Friday (10.26.07), from 6 to 9 PM @ The Wonderful World Art Gallery. The carnival will feature the art of Emily the Strange creators Rob Reger and Buzz Parker plus Tim Burton, Dr. Seuss, the Artist Sisters Miss Mindy & CJ Metzger, Gris Grimly and Turo "Scissorhands".
In addition to the original artwork of Emily the Strange, the carnival will buzz with the paintings and shadowbox ensembles from the Artist Sisters -- Miss Mindy and CJ Metzger, art and Nightmare Before Christmas storyboards from Tim Burton, the secret art and unorthodox taxidermy collections of Dr. Seuss, and Mongolian paper cuttings of Turo "Scissorhands".
Complete with live carnies performing at the opening reception, The Carnvial of the Strange will offer a wild art sideshow. As a quick preview, we have two pieces from Miss Mindy (via her blog).
