Seen: Craola – Forgotten Lands @ Lineage Gallery (6.1.07)

Forgotten Lands featuring the art of Craola and Naoto Hattori opened this past Friday (6.1) @ Lineage Gallery in Philadelphia. Brent Nolasco made it out to the opening and sent back these nice shots for everyone to enjoy.  To avoid sensory overload we’re going split the coverage into two sections — Craola today, Naoto Hattori tomorrow.    Craola’s often mentioned by collectors and fans as one of the top rising painters in the whole lowbrow / pop surrealist movement.  His first solo (@ 1988) was less than a year ago and now he’s really turning heads with his hyper detailed creature-filled  menageries. The show also marked the release of a new giclee print – Hatch, available online from Lineage Gallery. Forgotten Lands runs through July 1st so if you missed it and are out near Philadelphia, go check it out for yourself.

  1. I’m bummed I missed the opening. Was supposed to road trip it to Philly but my bro bailed. Maybe next time. Great stuff, as always.
