Seen: Represent, Represent! The Tempt One Art Benefit

The URB Gallery in Culver City, CA hosted Represent, Represent!, a benefit art show for LA graff artist Tony ‘Tempt’ Quan, this past Saturday (3.10.07).  The graff community came together to support Tempt  who suffers from ALS, a degenerative neuromuscular disease. The proceeds from the donated contributions of original artwork, decks, prints and more will be used to enable Tempt to return home and receive the care he requires. The large show featured art from a large respected group of artists including Slick, Obey, Kaws, Dez Einswell, EWOK, Mister Cartoon, Dave Flores and many more.   A series of hand-painted giant spray can figures designed by Slick and hand-painted by top artists, set off the center of the gallery and served as the focal point for the show.

While things were pretty mellow during the VIP preview in the afternoon, the energy and excitement really picked up for the official opening night with a persistently long-line and packed gallery.  Only fitting, a great turnout for a great cause with each person making a donation at the door to help Tempt.
