Seen: Blaine Fontana - The Hunted (2.3.07)

Blaine Fontana opened his solo show "The Hunted" at  Lab101 Gallery this past Saturday night. Long known for his portrayals of  nature, this show focused on wildlife as prey, the subject of man's  desires.  The show featured Fernwood Shepard -- a huge foam sculpture,  several 16 x 16" original giclee canvases, several camo-themed paintings  and three exquisite large (48 x 72") paintings.  The giclee pieces showcased a different look from Blaine through the heavy use of design elements and photography.

The opening also featured a signing for Blaine's new Sedimental Promises art book. In addition, the show exclusive 3-color 18x 24" silk screened Hunted Seedlings print (100 pieces) was available as well for a very reasonable $40.   The book is available directly from Blaine Fontana's site ("store") and the print may still be available from LAB 101.
