Dr. Destruction Revealed Part 10

We jumped the gun a bit and unveiled the cape before spending some time on the final sculpt of Muttpop’s Dr. Destruction Figure. SyteR finished polishing up the figure based on the various suggestions. As you can see, things came together very nicely. SyteR added many details to the piece that make it shine. The angular sideburns give the character a chunky style that complements the jaw and sly grin. The back of the pants have some soft wrinkles that suggest a softer, more refined cloth than that used by the Red Demon figure. There’s also a heft to the pose that suggests that Dr. Destruction is trying too hard to look proper and sophisticated. Next week we will focus on the step-by-step process of building the cape.

How about making his "shorty" legs longer and more powerful?
It looks like he's got something stuck up his...
sorry for being brutally honest...well then again, I am anonymous so...
I think it would fit the collection better.

ANONYMOUS:
Thanks for your suggestion, but we like the legs as they are. Bill (the designer of Dr. Destruction) tends to make "shorty" legs. If you look carefully at the Luchadores5 illustration (which Bill also drew) at the top of the entry you will see that the proportions of Dr. Destruction are consistent with the other characters in the Luchadores5 universe. Actually, if you think back to all of our characters, they have consistently had short legs.

The stiffness in the legs is part of the character. Dr. Destruction tries way too hard to be prim and proper...but it's forced. We wanted to carry this attitude through in his sculpt.

We appreciate the dialogue, even if you choose to remain anonymous. :-)

Muttpop, this is Anonymous (yes, it's really me)...I just wanted to say that on seeing all the figures, I have begun to warm-up to the design and how all the character's looks relate...On Dr. Destruction, I've realized the cool possibilities of customizing the head and cape...so in all, I stand corrected.

My favorite design so far is Kozik's Tequila, oh, and those new Glow In Dark designs Rock!
