DJ Shiro's 7" Pot Heads + Open Call for Designs

DJ Shiro's new 7" Pot Heads vinyl figures are about to drop (ETA: Feb/Mar).  The new platform figure boils down the essecene of his 12" Pot Head customs to the terra-cotta pot shaped head.  Next up, an artist series and custom show in LA.

The artist series will feature 8 invited designs as well as at least four chosen in an open call for submissions.  Two designs will be chosen from entries submitted by KR board members and two will be chosen from entries from VP readers.  So download the template and let it flow. Design guidelines: Keep designs to 4-5 colors and do not use any gradients.  To enter send your submissions to pot_heads_submission@vinylpulse.com.  The deadline for submission is March 10th, 2007 -- so get to it ;-)

Do we really need DRUG TOYS? This is as bad as toys that say it's cool to drop out of school or beat your woman. Totally bad for the scene. Juvenile and really lame!

These kinda suck!! No real art to their shape. Nothing ground breaking about them. I've seen better designs of the same concept. But to each his own. Must've been smoking a dobie and came up with this!!!

I'm all for constructive criticism. But in all honesty you guys need to lighten up. This is a figure with a "pot" for a "head" hence the name pothead. It's a tongue in cheek joke.
It's not a drug toy. The shape is basic so artist can have some creative freedom to make them into whatever they want. I wanted to make a platform that wasn't an animal shape so artist could reinterpret it. Plus it's a functional flower pot.
I don't know what that has to do with dropping out of school and beating your woman. That comment was pretty lame, but your intitled to your opinion.

Peace
Shiro

i like these a lot better than the foo foo cutesy crap which can be mistaken for a baby toy.

I love the cliche, tounge n check pot head name/design. The fact that it's an actual pot planter sells me. I've been looking for a new home for my venus fly trap. Can't wait to see the designs. I will be submitting a couple. My only question is what file format, size and whatnot should the designs be? I'm a vector person myself.

no more drama. no no no more drama. potheads are potheads whether or not they have pots for heads. so squash it and get on with the toy making!
