Wild Wild Midwest @ DvA (11.11.06)
Wild Wild Midwest featuring the art of Colin Johnson, Chris Ryniak, Jeremiah Ketner, Mike Burnett opens at DvA Gallery on November 11th. All four artists will be at the opening.
Mike Burnett wrote in to let us know about his plans for the show. He will be presenting 12 new one-of-a-kind wood toys from two new series. The six 10" tall Wedgeheads feature a distinctive wedge cut revealing their alter-ego's. Lucha Libre Unmasked features six wrestlers complete with removable wooden masks. In contrast to Mike's earlier wrestling figures, these are full-dimensioned (turned on a lathe) rather than flat. In addition the show will feature some of Mike's plush creations as well ten or so previously shown pieces.
If you're anywhere near Chicago, drop by DvA on November 1tth for a great night of art from four extremely talented midwesterners.

I Just saw Mike's new sculptures on Satuday when I dropped off the work, Stupid Mike, being all awesome as usual. Gonna make me go broke!
