Seen: Stash x Slick – Rust in Piece (11.09.06)

Rust in Piecesfeaturing new works by graff legends Stash (NYC) and Slick (La) opened this past Thursday (11.09.06) at MeltGallery on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The majority of Stash’s work utilized intricate laser engraving with his trademark lettering and cap icons  on several large wooden pieces and 3 limited edition decks.  The fine 3d detail on these pieces really needs to be soon in person to be truly appreciated.  Slick presented a huge array of 120 plus pieces ranging from his Warhol-esque Einstein meets Kiss photo mashups to a prodigious display of "O-Hell Mi Nomber es… " pieces patterned after the ubiquitous name badges.  As  expected, a large crowd turned out for this sweet show — if you have any interest in graff at all, do yourself a favor and check it out.
