Seen: MAD – Lost Marbles @ Rotofugi (10.3.06)

MAD rolled into Chicago for the opening of his first solo show, Lost Marbles, @ Rotofugi this past Friday night (11.03.06).  While we couldn’t make it out to the show, we hear that several hundred people turned out for the opening and were more than rewarded with a large display of MAD’s work including original paintings, toy customs, pen and ink ghost character drawings,  Boooya Plushes and prints.  MAD also brought along a collection of his previous toys and offered a tantalizing  look at  the future.  He showed off the all-black proto of Doodles, his new toy coming shortly from Red Magic’s Love Original Project, and also revealed control art (turnarounds) for several as yet unreleased toy designs.  Congrats to MAD on a smash of a show. He’s set to drop bombs in ’07 with toy after toy. Thanks to  Sket One for snapping these great pics of the show and the after-party. Be sure to click through to the full post for all the pics.

  1. This is extremely off-topic BUT
is anybody having a problem with vinylpulse constantly setting itself as your homepage? Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I stop it because it’s extremely annoying.

  2. That show was great. I must say it was my first real toy show opening, but I was impressed. What a turn out. I forget the collection name, but the little concept illustrations of the graffiti tools “new & used” was awesome. I hope those go into production soon.
Thanks for the pics, I forgot to bring my camera as usual.
