Marka27 – Audio Canvas

marka27
and problak created this massive urban installation for the opening of Exposed on November 16th at the Artists For Humanity Epicenter in Boston.  The installation features prints of illustrations and graff from both artists, custom spray cans by both artists and three audio canvases by marka27.  Driven by his dual interest in visual art and music and the connections between them, marka created the concept of an audio canvas merging paintings of iconic figures with embedded speakers and connections for portable CD and mp3 players.  The three audio canvases in this installation feature Mos Def, Nina Simone and J Dilla.  To get a better feel for his audio canvases, check out a short video of the J Dilla audio canvas by marka27.

Also, marka’s minigods project is rolling along and we hope to have some updates shortly on one of the premiere vinyl releases of ’07.   You’ve seen his fine art,  and his toys, and for a closer look at his graff, check out the new Burning New York book by Gingko Press.
