Gimmeshelter Tour — Cardboard Art for the Homeless

GimmeShelter is a new  charity art tour project to benefit the homeless.  Organized by Greg Eastmer, artists were asked to contribute art on cardboard canvases no larger than 12" on one side.   Cardboard is not only a clearly "urban" canvas but it is also the primary source of shelter and warmth for homeless individuals.  The list of participating artists is pretty impressive with a mix of graff and underground/lowbrow talents.   Once the tour has finished, the pieces will be auctioned on eBay with the proceeds going to the National Coalition for the Homeless. At this point, Greg is  looking for galleries willing to donate gallery space so additional tour stops can be scheduled. He also is hopeful to find a printer/publisher for the tour catalog.  There are two scheduled shows so far,  one in San Jose @ Anno Domini (April 2007) and New York City @ 193c (February 2007).  Here are two of the pieces contributed so far by slowmovingvehicle and Peabe.
