Poddyville Mini-Figs by Doktor A

They’re here!  After a year of planning, toil and trouble, Doktor A’s latest toy creations are available and ready for purchase.  The Poddyville mini-figures are based on his Poddyville paintings (some still available).  Each of the four designs stands 2" tall (2.5" with the included base). Articulation? Yup, 1 point 🙂  This is DIY in the true sense of the word — no faceless, nameless corporations, no secret factories in China, no gorgeous models to advertize the toys… No sir.  Each of these was hand-made by Doktor A.  What does that mean?  Here goes: Dok A personally  cast, cleaned, rubbed down, assembled, painted, signed, numbered, bagged and boxed each Poddyville mini-fig!  Also, props to George Gaspar of October Toys for the original prototype.   There will be 50 signed and numbered sets in total with 20 being available now for all your holiday shopping needs. As an added bonus each comes with a sticker featuring the original art that inspired it.  The lovable Poddyville figures can be purchased individually (£10.99)  or as a complete set (£40.00). To buy please visit Poddyville.

I’m personally stoked to see yet another brilliant toy concept from Doktor A.  These little guys are pretty cute. I think Pod Fury’s my favorite but probably because I’m so used to seeing him as Dok’s forum avatar 🙂 Oh, and I still hold out hope that we’ll see more Podlings in the future!

And thanks to Jack and Vinyl Pulse for sure a great write up and the continued support.
It occured to me last night that these are quite possibly the first art toys ever in which some of the very same paint used in the original painting was also used on the toy.. (from the actual same tube I mean)…
