LeSportsac Qees + Tokidoki Bags

LeSportsac, a women’s sporty handbag brand, has teamed up with Toy2R + Tokidoki with some pretty cool results.  First off, apparently LeSportsac has introduced a Tokidoki line of handbags which includes two basic designs — black with a Tokidoki logo and a really colorful print design loaded with Simone Legno’s deliriously fun art.  Hopefully this is just the start of a new wave of  designer clothing and accessories created by designers who aren’t afraid to be cute or edgy.

Oh did I mention Toy2R?  Yes, there are toys involved in this deal — pretty nice ones too.  First up, there are 3 2.5" designer LeSportsac designed by Tokidoki, Dalek, and Meomi.  Each of these is quite nice and is unfortunately only available with the purchase of specific items from the LeSportsac Tokidoki handbag line.  Dalek’s has a nice retro throwback feel and Meomi’s is a cute cat bundled up for winter.  The nice Tokidoki design also comes in a larger 8" edition which is available for the premium price of $150 USD. The full line of handbags + inctheir luded Qees will be available during the
2nd week of January at  LeSportsace stores and on website.  Also, if you must have everything Tokidoki, there’s a catalog for this new handbag line which be available at the following boutiques:

  1. I assume the 8″ is a limited (rather than open) edition, though I’m not positive. I believe LeSportsac will be selling it, yes.

  2. The spring line of tokidoki lesportsac bags is completely sold out at their site and only available at a premium on ebay. However, they will be launching a new line of tokidoki bags for the summer, I believe in mid-May. Note that these bags are considerably more expensive than the usual lesportsac collection (lesportsac.com). You can also purchase a less expensive tokidoki vinyl toy collection ($12-$25) at the artist’s website (tokidoki.it) that is based on some of the other characters featured on the bags (castus friends). I just ordered the ‘cactus dog’, Bastardino for only $12. Also, if you can’t get enough of this artist’s work, iskin sells ipod covers for the mini and shuffle for $15-$20 featuring simone legno’s tokidoki characters (yeah, I’m a dork and have cactus friends and milky time for both my ipods).
