Last Friday (June 24th), Francine and I attended the opening reception for the LA stop of Nakanari and B.B. Birdy’s solo show, Double Click, held at Black Market on Sawtelle Blvd. in West LA. With the Black Market clothing store as a backdrop, the show featured custom toys from both artists with Nakanari offering the majority of the pieces available for sale. As a bonus attraction, Nakanari customized both DIY Funny Club figures and the new (to the USA) "So What" figures. The show was pretty fun, both of us got a chance to chat with Nakanari at length. Hey NAKANARI! I’m definitely loving loving loving your work!!! I remember you started off by telling me you wanted to make toys for “Where The Wild Things Are”. =) Looks like you’ve gone above and beyond that! Keep up your great great work, and I hope to see more toys sooN! Thank you for “The Punisher”! LoL! You rock! I hope I can go see an event sooN!
